EXTER and Information Designer v1.5 introduce wide range of improvements

Beijer Electronics has recently released its EXTER system program and Information Designer versions 1.5, affording multiple improvements and with a number of new features and functions having been made available.

With the EXTER K10 and EXTER K20 models now supporting Expansion module Profibus DP and Ethernet expansion modules as well as the Generic Profibus DP driver, this now means that the entire EXTER range enables communication over the Ethernet and facilitating the downloading and uploading of EXTER applications and communication with PLC systems.

In addition, Information Designer 1.5 has introduced an offline simulator for the EXTER K10m and EXTER K20m to ease the development process by allowing the developer to test applications without the need for access to the operator panel.

Downtime has been reduced, as BDTP timeouts can now be shortened by means of the BTIMx command, setting the timeout to the desired command. Other new advantages that come with the Information Designer 1.5 include:

• Command PSCE to enable calculation and display of project size
• Connection to LaserJet printer for color printouts
• SNTP time synchronization
